Statement on #BlackLivesMatter

Like many across Aberdeen – and indeed across the UK and overseas, we are shocked, distressed, and appalled by the recent and ongoing events taking place in the United States.

Racism in all its forms is abhorrent and unacceptable, and in no way reflects the values we embrace as an organisation or the community in which we work.

Our hearts go out to George Floyd’s family and to all those who have been victim to and affected by these events. For further support, resources, and advice on ways you can help in the UK you can visit the #BlackLivesMatter website here:

We shall always join in efforts to stamp out racism and all forms of discrimination in order to create a kind, confident, connected, and ambitious community which includes supporting our world-wide community as well.
