Volunteers are at the heart of our organisation, without the generous donations of time, commitment, and experience from individuals across the City and further afield we would not be able to achieve all that we set out to.
We’ve split our volunteers into two roles, Community Champions and Cultivate Growers.
help promote us and the work we’re doing. Support growing within your community or workplace, and share our messages with friends and colleagues. It’s super easy to become a champion and requires little time commitment just boundless enthusiasm for the work we’re trying to achieve. We think of our Community Champions as the Charity’s mouthpiece shouting of all the good work we’re doing.
Our Cultivate Growers
help develop and maintain our community gardens and outreach projects. In good weather (and occasionally bad) you get yoru boots dirty and help dig-in. We’ve plenty of projects launching this year that could do with a hand so why not come along, get your fingers beneath the soil, and support us as a volunteer?
Become a Volunteer
Do I have to regularly commit to become a volunteer?
The simple answer is no, any time you are able to give is always appreciated and during the growing year there is always lots of different projects happening that you can choose to get involved with that fit around your family and social life.
I’m not green fingered, is there training available?
We provide training throughout the year with different courses on growing your own food, maintaining our community gardens, planting trees, cooking and much more.
If working with children will I need a PVG?
You do not need a PVG to become a volunteer with us, however, for any work that involves children we will fund for a basic or enhanced PVG depending on the work carried out, at no cost to yourself.
Can my school or uniformed group get involved with one of the projects?
Yes please! If you have a school or uniformed group that wants to support our edible gardens or community projects then please get in touch. (Link to contact us).
