Live community projects
We’re cultivating kind, confident, connected, and ambitious communities through food-growing. Our live projects are all initiatives that you can get involved with, from creating an edible garden in Torry to revitalising an old sports centre in Woodside. Whether you’re digging the earth, fundraising, joining a community consultation, or just spreading the word there’s plenty of ways you can get involved with these exciting projects.

St Fitticks’ Edible Garden
We’re excited to be launching our plans to develop an edible garden in the heart of Torry at the former St Fitticks’ Council Depot. The project will revolve around three key themes, community, education, and recreation.

Hilton Heritage Garden
Hilton’s Heritage Garden is a project we aim to launch in 2021 with an initial consultation phase, to gain community support and raise engagement with local sustainability efforts, commencing February 2020. Hilton Outdoor Sports Centre will consist of three exciting projects revolving around food, heritage, and sport.
What we’re up to
The ongoing COVID-19 crisis has brought many challenges and hardship for families and communities across the UK and we have been without exemption. Unfortunately all our community-based projects are on hold at the moment but that doesn’t mean we aren’t still helping give communities the power to grow! We know this is a difficult tie for everyone so we want to do what we can to support you through this time. As part of our community action response we have created wee growing kits for you to #GrowAtHome. These kits won’t fill your gardens, or be a substitute for the park but they will, we hope, give you the incentive to grow your own and give you the basic tools to start.
We’re also working with other organisations to spread community spirit and support. You can access a range of materials once you sign-up and you can hear all the events and stories of what we’re up to below.
